I am a student at the Manship school of Mass Communication. My concentration is Digital Advertising. I am most interested in the creative mangment part of advertising. Included in this portfolio are projects 1 through 3 for my visual communications class. The first is a project is called “Beyoncé in Feminism” it was created using Adobe Photoshop. The second was created using Adobe InDesign and is called “Paul Renner: Futura.” The third project is called “Evolution of Mac Computers” and was made in Adobe illustrator. This classes objective is to learn how to visually communicate through the different Creative Cloud applications. The processes involves visually communicating a concept with drawing in a sketchbook, building mood boards, revising multiple iterations, and critiquing final work. Through this process I learned how much work is put into a final project or presentation. Turning in the first copy a project as a final would take away the ability to learn from the your own mistakes. Furthermore, starting at the computer screen takes away the ability of creative mapping. The Adobe Creative Cloud applications are both similar and different. The Lynda tutorial website helped in learning the differences in the programs. I was sufficient in Photoshop before starting this class but through the tutorials I learned more. The other three programs were very new to me. With class exercises, iterations and critiques it became second nature to learn and perfect these applications. I feel as if now I am sufficient in all four. This class taught me patients with learning. Not everything comes at the first try. Patience, hard work and time were key factors in the production of my projects.
